History of Quimper
The HB-Henriot Faiencerie was founded in 1690 by Jean-Baptiste
Bouquet, during the reign of King Louis the XIV. It was
throughout this period of French history that Louis XIV created
many royal manufacturers. HB Henriot Faiencerie de Quimper has
remained a viable company for 300 years and is one of the oldest
manufacturers in France.
In 1984, the company was purchased by the American distributor
of HB Henriot. In 2003, the company was sold to a Breton
gentleman, Pierre Chiron.
